The Angels Camp Mercantile & Cafe (The "Merc") is proudly sponsored by Buttercup Farms, Inc., a 501(c)(3), donation-supported, non-profit organization active in humanitarian projects around the world for over two decades.
Our beautifully restored circa 1860 store in historic downtown Angels Camp includes a cafe, espresso bar, bakery and gourmet ice cream service in a family-friendly setting. We also have unusual local and international goods for sale. Our facility is available for private dinners, community meetings and special parties, and we also cater local events. We offer family friendly activities such as Karaoke, drum circle, and special events.

The vision for the Merc is inclusive - it provides a sense of place for the community at large, and a sense of community to those who lovingly serve as volunteer staff members. Buttercup Farms adds to the Merc's mixture of fun and creativity the elements of spiritual growth and larger purpose, which motivate human beings to live more satisfying and enjoyable lives.

These wonderful volunteers come from right next door and from countries as far away as Senegal, Kenya and Mongolia. They all have one thing in common: the strong desire to give of themselves. Since our opening in 2008, the Mercantile has been blessed by the amazing talents of over 100 dedicated volunteers. Friendships here have developed that literally span the globe.
